Descartes Canadian Customs and Filing Services enable you to connect to Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) through the following methods:

• Integration with your in-house software utilizing different types of EDI standards.
• Utilization of our Web based service for you to do your customs processing from any location.
• Utilization of the Fax-and-Forget™ service. This service is designed to offer carriers the capability to fax documents to Descartes for filing.

Import: Ocean ACI

Descartes ACI Ocean Service is a solution for both the freight forwarder and carrier filing in-bound manifest and export cargo and conveyance information to the Canadian Customs (CBSA) ACI System.  This service helps customers comply with CBSA ACI regulations and procedures and is certified and approved by CBSA.

The Web-based service adjusts its functions, user screens, and data validations to exactly match the user, whether they are a freight forwarder and carrier, and service level.

Descartes ACI Ocean Connect Service allows customers to securely transmit their ACI filing data from in-house systems via an encrypted VPN connection.  Additionally, combined with Descartes ACI Ocean Service, customers can integrate with Descartes Air and Ocean AMS to form a comprehensive filing solution for those clients entering both Air and Ocean shipments into the US and Canada, and for Ocean Shipments exported from Canada.

Air ACI

Descartes ACI Air Service is a solution for both the freight forwarder and carrier filing in-bound manifest and export cargo and conveyance information to the Canadian Customs (CBSA) ACI System.  This service helps customers comply with CBSA ACI regulations and procedures and is fully certified and approved by CBSA.

The Web-based service has configurable functions, user screens, and data validations to match the user’s needs, whether they are a freight forwarder or carrier, and service level.

Descartes ACI Air Connect Service allows customers to securely transmit their ACI filing data from in-house systems via an encrypted VPN connection.  Additionally customers can integrate with Descartes Air and Ocean AMS to form a comprehensive filing solution for those clients entering both Air and Ocean shipments into the US and Canada, and for Ocean Shipments exported from Canada.

Highway ACI

Descartes Highway ACI Service is a comprehensive ACI e-Manifest filing service for shipments coming into Canada via vehicle. 

Through an easy-to-navigate Web interface, the Descartes Highway ACI Service submits cargo report information independently and can create a complete manifest in one session, in compliance with CBSA e-Manifest requirements.  The information submitted to CBSA includes the following: US Port of Exit, Arrival Date, Port of Entry, Port of Destination, Importer, Consignee, Shipper, Notify Party and Line Details.

Truck drivers can print out a conveyance package which contains barcodes and A9 Highway Conveyance Form information to seamlessly pass through the border.

Capabilities and benefits include:

Descartes Highway ACI Service can be integrated with other Descartes Customs Filing and Compliance Services to allow for multimodal, multi-country customs compliance.

Descartes Highway ACI Service is available as the following services:

• ACI-4-Trucks Service: a web-based application that allows truckers to electronically submit waybill and trip information directly to CBSA in advance of arriving at the border. Detailed report updates and email e-alerts advise users of border crossing problems or manifest errors in real-time. This application also builds profile databases for the shipper, consignee, companies, driver and equipment data used on repeated shipments.
