North America 3PL LLC (NA3PL), a privately held, premier third party logistics services provider for domestic and multi-national companies, is using Descartes' OneView Warehouse Management System (WMS) to automate and improve the efficiency of its Centralized Examination Station (CES).
NA3PL operates the CES that serves the Port of San Francisco/Oakland Seaport. A CES is a government authorized, privately operated facility where imported merchandise identified by US Customs & Border Protection (CBP) for physical examination is made available for inspection. NA3PL also provides warehousing, transload, cross-dock, fulfillment, drayage, rail intermodal and general transportation services for cargo moving through the Port of Oakland and Northern California.
We asked Clement Chin, Executive Partner for NA3PL, what sets Descartes apart from other warehouse management systems. "Descartes' OneView WMS is a state of the art solution that provides us with the ability to better manage and track shipments as they move through our facility," said Chin. "We chose Descartes because of the expertise of their team, understanding of our processes and requirements, and potential for rapid return-on-investment."
NA3PL was launched in 2012 by Clement Chin, Kevin Shimamoto and Tom Henderson, all veterans of the logistics industry.
