Descartes Joins Forces with IES
In June 2012 Descartes acquired Integrated Export Systems, Ltd. and IES Asia Limited (collectively referred to as "IES") a leading provider of provides Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) solutions that help freight forwarders, Non-Vessel Operating Common Carriers (NVOCCs) and customs brokers manage their business and improve profitability.
IES was a leader in regulatory compliance and provided its customers with integrated and collaborative shipment, customs entry and security filing solutions with robust accounting with options for forwarder warehouse management and purchase order management. The company offered its solutions as both a SaaS and as a deployed model to help customers manage their business and improve profitability. IES delivered its solutions to more than 600 customers with users in over 70 countries worldwide.
The acquisition has strengthened the Descartes Customs and Regulatory Compliance and Broker and Forwarder Enterprise Systems platforms with additional functionality and supplemented our application footprint to include a fully-integrated accounting, forwarder and customs broker enterprise system.
