Traditionally, route planning and mobile resource management (MRM) were two separate technologies and markets. Neither was designed with the other in mind. This resulted in two challenges for customers.  Firstly, the architecture of each of the two technologies only allowed for simple, non-real-time integration because route planning solutions were batch-based and MRM solution interfaces used historically-oriented performance data. Secondly, the integration of the technologies was left to the customer, resulting in potentially costly, time-consuming and fragile implementation of limited value.

MRM 2.0 is recognizes the need of convergence of route planning and MRM technologies into a single technology stack. It leverages the power of real time route planning and wireless mobile technology as if the two solutions were designed to work as one from the beginning.
