This Descartes' whitepaper reports on the findings of research with European consumers on their online buying and home delivery experience.
During July 2021, Descartes commissioned research across Europe to assess the changes in online buying habits following the Corona Virus Pandemic, the quality of service, the implications of experience on retailer perception, and consumers’ expectations and hopes for the future, including retailers’ environmental commitments.
The top level findings revealed:
- 43% of all purchases are made online
- Just 13% of customers are satisfied with their delivery service every time
- 68% have had an issue with a delivery in the last three months
- 71% of EU consumers consider the environment when making an online order
