The Stocky Shopify app is set to shut down on August 31, 2026, leaving ecommerce sellers with just over three months to transition to a new inventory planning solution. Shopify has already removed Stocky from its App Store and, once the shutdown date arrives, the app and its APIs will stop functioning entirely. Temporary read-only access will be available for a limited time to support data retrieval.
Stocky has played a central role for many sellers, supporting demand forecasting, purchase orders (POs), supplier tracking, and inventory reporting. Its removal may disrupt how businesses plan inventory, automate replenishment, and manage purchasing workflows.
For ecommerce sellers, the timeline creates a clear operational risk. Without a replacement in place, forecasting accuracy, stock availability, and purchasing efficiency may decline. Sellers that rely on automated reordering or centralized inventory visibility may be especially affected as these processes will need to be rebuilt elsewhere.
To prepare, ecommerce sellers should export key data, document existing workflows, and begin evaluating inventory management software immediately. Testing integrations and identifying systems that support forecasting, POs, and multi-location inventory will help reduce disruption during the transition.
